WHAT: Chatham PTA Thrift Shop was created to provide a revenue stream for Chatham County PTAs. Profits are distributed among the county’s PTAs according to volunteer hours.

WHO: Parents, guardians, aunts, uncles, students (10+), etc. can volunteer with various store tasks, thereby reducing costs.  

WHEN: 2 hour Work Nights or Work Days are scheduled throughout the year, typically weeknights and Sunday afternoons. Schedules are posted on the PTSA website and in the Pony Express.

1.  Volunteer (earns hours for our school...)

      Have A Little Time?
  • Join a scheduled Thrift Shop Worknight or Workday (2 hours). Tasks typically include straightening shelves or racks, vacuuming, hanging clothes, etc. Supervisors have a list of tasks.
  • Pick up a load of laundry to wash/return - earn 2 hours/load.
  • Weekday volunteering (while store is open) is available and must be coordinated with store management.  
Have More Time?
  • Become a trained supervisor
  • Become a trained sorter
  • Assist with emptying our drop box
2.  Donate and Shop at the Chatham PTA Thrift Shops (no hours earned).
Hours of Operation
Monday-Thursday and Saturday 9AM – 5PM
Friday 9AM – 6PM  
 
 
Other Good Thrift Shop Info:
 
  • Clubs and teams volunteering 60 hours will be rewarded with $200.  This may be spent on uniforms, supplies, pizza party etc.  Students/families may also volunteer to earn payment for field trips.
  • After working at least one hour, you get 50 percent off books, toys, games, and non-boutique clothes and shoes for up to $25 worth of items. You are also allowed to take advantage of whatever specials are on the board for that day.
